Cross Country Club at Riggs

Program Description: Students will build stamina and endurance as we teach them how to run long distances. Students will learn in-depth running mechanics, drills, interval training, strides, and how to properly warm-up and cool down. Students will also receive and track their times. They will learn how to set goals for themselves and learn a variety of strategies on ways to improve their overall personal performance. Practices twice a week (Tues and Thurs) in the morning before school. There are no penalizations if you miss a practice. This is a good way to prepare for the running club season which begins at the beginning of November.

Grades Levels of Students (Min and Max): K-6th

Start and End Date Program: 

Quarter 1 - every Tuesday and Thursday before school starting September 3rd and ends Tuesday September 17th. (no practice September 19th) 

Quarter 2 every Tuesday and Thursday before school starting October 15th and ending October 29th. A total of 10 practices. (5 during quarter 1 and 5 during quarter 2)

Time and Days of the week: 7:40 - 8:10

Location (School and Room/Area): Riggs Basketball Courts/Fields
