Location: Tarwater Elementary- 2300 S Gardner Drive, Chandler, AZ 85286 Summer Academy Site Coordinator: Liana Clareson (Clareson.Liana@cusd80.com) Dates: Monday - Friday June 3-21, 2024 Class times: 8:25am-10:10am & 10:15am-12pm This program is open to students grades K- 6. Registration closes May 30th. Cancellations: On/before April 15th -5% processing fee applies** Cancellations April 16th-April 30th-50% Refund; ** NO REFUNDS ON/AFTER MAY 1ST . For fees: please refer to the Summer Academy Catalog in circulation via Peachjar. Program are not free in Summer 2024. Incoming Kindergarten classes are for students entering Kindergarten in July 2024. CTA Incoming Kindergarten is for students accepted in a CUSD CTA school only. Incoming Kinder classes are block classes covering Reading/ELA & Math 8:25am-12:00pm. For Incoming Kinders: Students MUST be toilet/ potty-trained* *Pull-ups are not permitted. To be considered potty-trained, a child must be able to do ALL of the following: -Tell an adult they must go potty BEFORE they have to go (They must be able to say the words "I have to go potty."); -Can INDEPENDENTLY pull down their underwear and pants and pull them back up when done -Can INDEPENDENTLY clean their bottoms after using the toilet; -Get off the toilet by themselves; -Wash and dry their hands; -Postpone going if they must wait for someone who is in the bathroom or if outside and away from the classroom Meals: Parents must provide students with a water bottle and sack lunch/snack. Childcare: K-6 at Basha Elementary: Kids Express Summer Break Camp. Kids Express (KE) will offer reduced pricing day camp for Summer Academy students that are enrolled in from 8:25am-12pm. Kids Express-Basha El. site will transport from that site to Tarwater El. and back to KE Basha El. at 8:25am AND 12:00pm. There is no transportation for classes prior to 8:25am or for students enrolled in 1 class only. Spots are limited. REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 20th. Incoming Kindergarten at Chandler High School- Lil Explorers Summer Break Camp REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 20th. Summer Learning Recovery– Classes focus on ELA, Math and Integrated problem-based learning experiences. This program allows students to reinforce current concepts and will not cover material from the next grade level. Enroll in the grade level that corresponds with your grade in 2023-2024. Teacher recommendation is suggested but not required. Program: Mon.- Thurs. June 3rd - June 20th. **Please note that this recovery program is open to current K-6 CUSD students only. Summer Academy- TRANSPORTATION For Junior High / Entering JH Math Students: ANDERSEN Jr. HIGH SCHOOL - 1255 N Dobson Rd, Chandler, AZ 85224. Dates: Monday - Friday June 3 - June 21, 2024 (Free breakfast and Lunch provided) MUST REGISTER for TRANSPORTATION. Bus will pick up from the following Chandler USD schools only: ACP Middle, Bogle JH, Casteel Middle @ Casteel HS, Payne JH, Santan JH, Willis JH, Galveston El. Hartford, San Marcos, Conley El., and Sunshine Valley. (Transportation is not provided at 10:30am) Only for 7:30am arrival to campus and 2:00pm departure from campus. Enroll here!
