  • Gifted Testing CUSD Student - 2nd through 7th

    This test is the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) consisting of three sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Non-verbal Reasoning. It is a computer based, multiple choice assessment administered by a certified proctor. Register your child according to the grade they are in during the 2023/2024 school year. ALL students first enroll on a waitlist - the waitlist does NOT mean the testing session is full. ** WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY IN DISTRICT 2ND GRADERS FOR TESTING THE MONTHS OF DECEMBER, JANUARY AND FEBRUARY since testing will be held in classrooms in the month of January. Students must wait 6 months before they can retest. All testing will take place at Knox Gifted Academy: 700 W. Orchid Lane, Chandler, AZ 85225. Parents are not permitted in the testing room; a classroom for waiting will be available. To maintain a safe testing environment, the following precautions will be put in place: Staggered start times have been established to limit the number of people entering the campus at one time. Only one adult should accompany the student. It is strongly recommended that siblings do not attend. Masks are optional. There will be a designated room for parents to sign-in and wait for the duration of testing. Testing takes approximately 90 minutes. Parents are welcome to leave the campus and return closer to the end of the test session. Please bring a water bottle for your student. Please do not attend the session if you or your child are feeling ill, please do not attend testing. Instead, please contact me to discuss options for rescheduling.     Important Information Please Read Entire Page NO EXCEPTIONS: Parent/Guardian must bring the child’s birth certificate on the day of testing. Entrance test for a 4 year old to enter kindergarten early. The child must pass the exam to enroll. This is open to children who turn five years old between September 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 only. Students that will be five before September 1st do not need to complete this exam for kindergarten entrance. Ages: 4 years old only Max: 60 kids Dates: Saturday April 20th, 2024- Time Between 8 am-1 pm you will receive a call from the assessment office about a week before your test date to determine the testing time for your child on the selected date. Saturday May 18th, 2024- Time Between 8 am-1 pm you will receive a call from the assessment office about a week before your test date to determine the testing time for your child on the selected date. Wednesday May 29th, 2024- Time Between 8 am-4 pm you will receive a call from the assessment office about a week before your test date to determine the testing time for your child on the selected date. Your child will not have testing the entire time. You will have an option on time once the assessment office calls you.
