Basha Media Production Program Program Description: Students will be expected to demonstrate all of the 6 pillars of character at all times as a member of the Bobcat Broadcast staff. All technology that is used by the students will be respected and handled with care. Students & Parents are responsible for any damage incurred to the equipment as caused by inappropriate or negligent student behavior. Active attendance of weekly meetings and announcement duties is required to remain a member of the Media Program. Students must arrive on time to all meetings which will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-8:30 am. Academics and professionalism are required in the classroom, during shows, interviews and all program business and functions. 5th & 6th grade students from Basha Elementary must complete an application provided by Mrs. Gutierrez and submit it on time in order to be considered for the program. It is a computer based, multiple choice assessment administered by a certified proctor. Register your child according to the grade they are in during the 2022/2023 school year. ALL students first enroll on a waitlist - the waitlist does NOT mean the testing session is full. All testing will take place at Knox Gifted Academy: 700 W. Orchid Lane, Chandler, AZ 85225. Parents are not permitted in the testing room; a classroom for waiting will be available. To maintain a safe testing environment, the following precautions will be put in place: Staggered start times have been established to limit the number of people entering the campus at one time. Only one adult should accompany the student. It is strongly recommended that siblings do not attend. Masks are optional. There will be assigned seating in a designated room for parents to sign-in and wait for the duration of testing. Testing takes approximately 3 hours for grades second through seventh. Parents are welcome to leave the campus and return closer to the end of the test session. Students will have an assigned seat in the testing room that will allow for social distancing. Hand sanitizer will be available. Please bring a water bottle for your student. This 8-week basketball clinic that will be meeting every Monday after school for an hour and a half, 3:15 – 4:45pm. Will be coached and facilitated by Mr. Simpson. Mr. Simpson has 15 years of high school and collegiate experience playing and coaching. He has coached in 3 states, won a state championship, coach of the year awards, 5 years of basketball camps/clinics, and coached many athletes in college and professional rankings. CTA Liberty Students Only Whether you’re a total beginner or already have some experience playing, please consider joining ukulele club. The club is finally back at CTA Liberty! Special Instructions: Students need to come with their own ukuleles and a pocket folder with fasteners to put notes in. Who: 3rd to 6th graders with their own instrument are welcome to join Daniel ‘Profe’ Farmer. What: A great musical experience is waiting for you. You will learn simple melodies and chords. Singing is encouraged. If you are more experienced, you will explore more complex chords and strumming patterns.
